Our Mission
A Transitional Kindergarten program serves as an important step for young children, promoting their overall development and readiness for future academic challenges. It focuses on creating a supportive learning environment that encourages exploration and social interaction, aligning with the developmental needs of early learners. TK programs are designed to meet the developmental needs of young children, focusing on play-based, hands on learning and social skills, which helps them transition smoothly into formal education
Readiness Checklist
- Write first and recognize name
- Hold a pencil or crayon correctly
- Recognize upper and lowercase letters as well as sound
- Practice scissor and cutting skills
- Math Concepts: sorting patterns, counting 1-100 and matching
- Always practice self control
- Recognize simple rhyming, compound, and sight words
- Learning the proper way to be respectful and interact with peers
- Can draw a picture of themselves
- Identify body parts and the 5 senses
Teacher Adela Jackson
She has been a preschool teacher for fifteen years. Being in the field for this time has given her an opportunity to teach different age groups. However, she has been teaching Pre-K since 2010. Preparing students for kindergarten has been a joy for her. She believes that communication is a key component to make a teacher, parent, and child's relationship a success.
